Blue Geisha (A8H)

  1. Stamp folded Size H blue card with Chinese newsprint and clear emboss.
  2. Computer generate words (Imagine, Discover, Dream) in different fonts on vellum, tear edges and attach to card with vellum tape
  3. Cut a 3" x 7 1/2" tag from purple card stock and computer generate the Japanese writing in purple ink on the bottom of the tag
  4. Cut a rectangle approximately 2" x 2 5/8" starting 1 1/4" from the top of the purple tag.
  5. Cut a piece of light blue card 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" and cut a hole 1 3/4" x 2 3/8 from the center
  6. Tape the blue "frame" over the Altered Pages Colorful Geisha, and tape the purple tag on top, centering the image
  7. Computer generate the Japanese poem on vellum, tear edges and tape to tag with vellum tape
  8. Thread fibers through top of tag, and attach to card with foam tape.

Small Japanese Screen (A9Q)

  1. Cut screen template from maroon card stock and outline the buttom edges with the gold leafing pen
  2. Stamp Chinese Newsprint on each panel with clear embossing ink and gold emboss
  3. Tape Altered Pages Japanese writing strips to black card stock and attach to screen with foam tape
  4. Cut two square Altered Pages Japanese Symbols, tape to black card stock and attach to the center two panels of the screen with foam tape
  5. Clay Buttons made with white clay, stamped with Chinese Newsprint. After baking, rub with Gold Rub n'Buff and tie embroidery thread through the holes
  6. Attach to screen with E6000 glue

Two Geishas (A10H)

  1. Cut a piece of olive card 8" x 5" and use a piece of foam packing material to dab black ink all over the card (or anything that will make a design)
  2. Tape to a Size H black card stock that has been outlined with a gold Krylon pen
  3. Cut a piece of dark red card, outline with the gold pen, and tape to the green card on an angle as shown
  4. Attach Altered Pages Japanese writing and Geishas to red card with foam tape
  5. Trim a portion of another image of the Geshias to fit a mini-domino
  6. Brush a layer of Mod Podge on the domino, lay the Geisha image face up, and brush another layer of Mod Podge on top
  7. When dry, outline with the gold Krylon pen, covering the edges of the domino
  8. Glue to the card with E6000.
  9. Flatten a piece of white clay into an oval and stamp A-S-I-A-N
  10. Brush the clay piece with bronze metallic craft paint thinned with a little water - make sure the letters are filled with color
  11. Sponge black ink over the piece and bake
  12. Cover with Glossy Accents and glue to the card with E6000

Asian Bird (A11H)

  1. Tear two pieces of printed Asian paper to fit the top and bottom of a black suede paper card, leaving a gap of about 2 1/2"
  2. Cut Magic Mesh to fit the gap, and attach to card (Magic Mesh is self-sticking)
  3. Tape torn Asian pieces to the card
  4. Stamp Asian collage stamp onto green vellum with black Memories ink and mat to black suede card piece
  5. Attach a piece of yellow vellum that has been sponged with olive ink to the top left corner of the image
  6. Attach piece to card with foam tape
  7. Attach a small scrap of Magic Mesh to the bottom of the card
  8. Cut some black scraps and thread through an Asian coin and glue to the card with E6000 glue.

Thanks Folder (A12)

  1. I used an accordian folder from Rusty Pickle, but you can cut a piece of white card stock 10" x 2" and score and fold at 2" intervals
  2. Stamp bamboo in brown ink and then stipple and sponge with the same ink
  3. Rub darker brown ink along the edges
  4. Computer generate letters using Bamboo font in brown on tan cardstock and cut out at strange angles as shown
  5. Layer each letter to a complimentary color of cardstock and trim to match shape of letter
  6. Cut a tiny tag from cardstock, punch a hole and thread with string
  7. Cut a small piece of beige cardstock, tear one edge and layer to complimentary cardstock
  8. Tape letters and embellishments to card as shown
  9. For the front piece, stamp Japanese Thanks into black clay and cut just a little smaller than 2" square
  10. Rub with gold and copper Pearl-ex and bake according to directions
  11. Attach clay piece to folder with E6000 glue

Koi Screen (A13)

  1. Cut a sheet of black card stock to 11 1/4" x 5 1/2" and trace screen template onto it
  2. Cut out, including two side inserts
  3. Outline all three sections with gold leafing pen
  4. Stamp Asian symbol with gold metallic ink and small dragonfly with clear embossing ink
  5. When embossing ink dry, rub with gold Pearl-ex
  6. Cut strips of red self-stick Magic Mesh and attach to the BACK of the two side panels
  7. On the left panel,run some wire up and down through the mesh, catching the clay coin (made from a mold - see clay mold)
  8. String some beads on each end and trim wire
  9. On cream cardstock, stamp koi and color with twinkling H2O's
  10. Attach some Magic Mesh to the center panel on an angle
  11. Tear the edges of the koi image and attach to gold decorative paper
  12. Tear the edges of the gold paper and attach to the panel with foam tape
  13. To complete the right side, thread some beads on an eye pin. Attach a coin charm to the bottom, and attach a jump ring to the top, threading the jump ring through the mesh before closing.
  14. Punch holes in the top of each section and thread fibers through

Japanese Scene (A14H)

  1. Make a shaving cream background using red and purple acrylic paints.
  2. Stamp or computer generate an appropriate design in black ink. (Must use something with very bold lines - thin lines do not show up well on the background).
  3. Trim background and tape to purple card stock, then to size H dark red card stock, 3/8" from top, bottom and left side, leaving more of a red border on the right.
  4. Stamp or computer generate Geisha on white shrink plastic , color with pink and purple chalk and shrink.
  5. Edge piece with purple gel pen and clear emboss
  6. Rub entire piece with clear embossing ink and clear emboss
  7. Use E6000 glue to attach to top right of card

    Stamps: I used clip art for both the scene and the Geisha. I put the shrink plastic through my laser printer and it came up rather lumpy. Would be better to use a stamp
