Jared Accordian Book

This was made for my nephew's 20th birthday.

I used a prefolded booklet by Rusty Pickle. It had 7 "sides" but I cut off the last two, leaving 5 pages, one for each letter. Each page is 4" x 6". If you don't have the premade booklet, cut cardstock or scrapbook paper to size. Since my finished piece is 20" wide, you will need more than one piece of cardstock. Of course, you will make it as long as you need.

  1. Fill letters with photos (see my tutorial for directions).
  2. Print all photos on photo paper and cut out, leaving black outline
  3. Tape photos to complimentary cardstock and cut out, leaving a thin colored border
  4. Cut strips of scrapbook paper (I created my own striped paper, so I could choose the colors and style I wanted. See my striped paper tutorial for directions).
  5. Attach a strip to each page, varying the location, width and layout of strips as shown
  6. Tape letter to each page to spell out name
  7. I scanned dictionary pages to find several words that fit my nephew, each starting with one of the letters in his name.
  8. I printed the "R's" and "E's" using Punch Label font.
  9. Attach the "E" words to rust cardstock, trim closely, and tape to page
  10. Attach the "R" words to the page with staples
  11. I then printed the other words, using GF Halda font, onto scraps of the striped paper.
  12. Jock was layered to a blue tag and attached to the page with an eyelet
  13. The "A" words were layered to rust cardstock and taped to the page
  14. The "D" words were attached to the page with a copper brad.

Here's a picture of all the pages together
