All books are made by covering the front and back covers of purchased mini-composition books with decorative paper (I used double-sided tape and glue stick). A 1 1/2" strip of contrasting cardstock is used as the binding and attached with E6000 glue. Book should be pressed under heavy books for a few hours to be sure the binding is secure.

 

Book 1 - Victorian (MB1)

  1. Outline book with gold Krylon pen
  2. Glue fibers to top
  3. Press white Sculpey clay into a mold and remove. (See clay mold instructions). Rub highlights with gold Rub n Buff and bake
  4. Outline clay piece with gold pen and glue to book using E6000 glue

    Stamps: Clay mold made with F-1812 from PSX

 

Book 2 - Beethoven (MB2)

  1. Outline book with gold Krylon pen
  2. Glue fibers to top
  3. Computer generate Beethoven clip art on cream card and cut in oval
  4. Attach to book with foam dots

Book 3 - Blue Swirl (MB3)

  1. Outline book with silver Krylon pen
  2. Glue fibers to top
  3. Stamp design on white textured paper with blue ink and clear emboss
  4. Attach to book with foam dots

    Stamps: Santa Rosa F-1812

    For second book, color and outline clay piece with silver pen and attach to book with E6000 glue

Book 4 - Dragonfly (MB4)

 

  1. Outline book with gold Krylon pen
  2. Press white Sculpey clay into a dragonfly mold and remove. (See clay mold instructions).
  3. Glue to book using E6000 glue
  4. Glue fibers to top

 

Book 5 - Purple (MB5)

 

  1. Outline book with silver Krylon pen
  2. Squeeze a line of Glossy Accents down binding and sprinkle with purple seed beads
  3. Stamp design on lilac cardstock with purple ink and clear emboss
  4. Rub edges with purple ink pad and attach to book with foam dots

Book 6 - Green (MB6)

 

  1. Outline book with gold Krylon pen
  2. Squeeze a line of Glossy Accents down binding and sprinkle with white, clear and gold beads
  3. Press white Sculpey clay into a key mold and remove. (See clay mold instructions).
  4. Rub highlights with gold Rub n Buff and bake
  5. Outline clay piece with gold pen and glue to book using E6000 glue

 

Book 7 - Music Score (MB7)

 

  1. Outline book with gold Krylon pen
  2. Press white Sculpey clay into a G Cleff mold and remove. (See clay mold instructions).
  3. Rub highlights with gold Rub n Buff and bake
  4. Outline clay piece with gold pen and glue to book using E6000 glue
  5. Attach a strip of O'So Sticky Tape (from Penny Wise Arts) to the binding and sprinkle with black and clear beads

 

Book 8 - Beaded Shoe (MB8)

  1. Attach strips of O'So Sticky Tape from Penny Wise Arts to three edges of the book, rounding the corners
  2. Peel off tape covering, and holding the book over a plastic container, pour clear beads over the tape, pressing to assure they all stick
  3. Stamp Victorian Shoe with blue ink on white cardstock and cover with Penny Wise Arts O'So Sticky Tape that comes in a sheet
  4. Cut out shoe, peel off tape covering, and pour clear beads over
  5. Layer shoe to darker blue cardstock and attach to book with foam tape
  6. Tie some blue fibers in a knot and attach to the left edge with E6000 glue
  7. Attach small handbag charm to book with foam tape
