Egyptian Clay Pyramid (C18H)

  1. Cut a rectangle approximately 4" x 3" in a folded golden card
  2. Cut a piece of embossed red card 5" x 8" and tack it to the front of the golden card temporarily
  3. Open the card and trace the rectangle on the reverse side of the red card
  4. Add 1/4" all around and cut a rectangle from the red card
  5. Remove the red card, attach double sided tape and attach to the golden card
  6. Ink the top portion of the Egyptian collage stamp with black Memories ink, and stamp on gold polymer clay; tear the edges and bake
  7. Tape a piece of black card to the inside of the golden card, and glue the clay piece to it using E6000 glue
  8. Sponge brown ink on a mini domino and run the Egyptian rollograph stamp over it
  9. Spray with acrylic fixative, then with clear acrylic sealer
  10. Cut a small tag from the golden paper and run the rollograph stamp over top
  11. Tear black and red cardstock and attach to the left side of the tag
  12. Cut some fibers and tape to the back of the tag
  13. Attach the tag to the card with a small black brad
  14. Glue the domino to the tag with E6000.

Egypt Collage (C19H)

  1. Cut two strips of olive embossed card, mat to black card stock and tape to the right and left sides of a folded olive card
  2. Stamp Egyptian collage onto Egyptian printed vellum using black Memories ink
  3. Trim and mat to black card stock
  4. Attach to folded card with tiny black brads
  5. String black and yellow glass beads on gold embroidery floss and wrap around the black brads. Be sure that 3 beads are in each section. You will start and end at the same brad.
  6. Trim the ends of the floss, tuck then under the brad and glue
  7. Glue the larger bead to the vellum in each section
  8. Roll black polymer clay very thin and run the Egyptian rollagraph stamp over top (wet the stamp lightly to prevent sticking)
  9. Cut two strips, rub with gold Pearl-Ex and bake
  10. Attach to side panels with E6000 glue.

Africa Travel (C14H)

  1. Cut 4 squares from dark brown card stock and lightly stipple with clear embossing ink
  2. Pour gold embossing powder over and wipe most of it off. Heat to emboss
  3. Tape all four squares to a size H beige parchment card
  4. Attach Lion and South Africa poster from Altered Pages Africa parchment sheet to two of the squares with foam tape
  5. Attach Africa text to one of the strips with copper eyelets and lightly sponge with brown ink
  6. Roll out a small piece of gold clay, cut in an oval with pointed top and bottom, and impress design stamps into the clay
  7. Cut holes for eyes and mouth and bend clay down the center to form a ridge
  8. Sponge with a little black ink to highlight design and bake according to directions
  9. String a long bead onto cord, tie a knot in both ends and glue to side of card with E6000
  10. String four beads on another piece of cord, wrap around mask, and glue piece to the fourth

Africa Mask (C15H)

  1. Fold a tan card and stamp Palm Frond with black Memories ink
  2. Tear textured beige, brown and black card stock and tape to left edge of card
  3. Lightly sponge beige paper with black ink
  4. Thread beads onto gold cord, tying knots in the ends and in the center to hold the beads together
  5. Glue to the card with E6000
  6. Stamp African Mask on beige card stock with black ink and clear emboss
  7. Tear edges and rub with black ink pad
  8. Layer to torn black vellum and attach to card with foam tape.

Faces of Africa (C16H)

  1. Cut beige cardstock into a 3 1/2" x 7 1/2" tag
  2. Use Grid Technique with brown and orange ink. Add yellow and red highlights
  3. Mask each block and stamp images with brown ink
  4. Layer tag to rust cardstock and punch hole in top
  5. Thread fibers through
  6. Attach orange Magic Mesh to left side of folded yellow-orange card
  7. Lay Magic Mesh on right side of card randomly and sponge brown ink through holes to make pattern
  8. Attach tag using foam tape
  9. Cut small tile squares from white polymer clay and bake
  10. Sponge with pigment inks, heat set, and top with Glossy Accents
  11. When dry, attach to card with Glossy Accents.

Wild Life (C17Q)

  1. Cut a piece of scrap paper (4 1/4" x 5 1/2") into four pieces as shown and use these as templates to cut your paper
  2. Computer generate zebra, tiger and leopard patterns and cut out, using template
  3. Tape to folded quarter-size white card
  4. Stamp words on tiger and zebra patterns
  5. Cut top piece from white card stock and from clear contact paper
  6. Carefully stamp lion with black Memories ink onto clear contact paper. (The paper is very slippery)
  7. Heat set, holding the heat gun away from the plastic - too close and it will start to curl.
  8. Lay plastic face down on table, remove protective backing and brush with copper Pearl-Ex
  9. Tape to the cut white card stock, then to the folded card
  10. Cut two strips from black card stock and glue to card to cover seams
  11. Place a small heatproof plastic container in an old electric fry pan and heat to 340 to melt clear UTEE and black embossing powder (UTEE comes in black, but I only had the clear)
  12. When melted, stir lightly - too much and your finished piece will have air bubbles
  13. Pour a small black blob onto a hot sheet and let cool
  14. Sprinkle a little copper and gold Pearl-ex onto piece and heat with heat gun, just til UTEE melts a little
  15. Attach the UTEE piece to the card with E6000 glue (The UTEE doesn't scan very well but looks neat in person)

Civilizations Collage (C20H)

  1. Stipple labels with purple, blue, brown and yellow pigment ink
  2. Stamp images using purple and blue ink, masking where necessary
  3. Wipe sheet of labels with tissue to remove any excess ink and attach labels to medium purple cardstock. See Label Technique for hints.
  4. Rub entire piece with clear embossing ink and clear emboss
  5. Repeat two times and tape piece to cream speckled card stock
  6. Stamp Asparagus Leaf on folded medium purple card with purple ink and tape collage to card
  7. Thread some beads onto purple wire and glue to card with E6000 glue
  8. Stamp large column into white polymer clay and cut out
  9. Bake according to directions and when cool, sponge with purple and blue ink
  10. Glue to card using E6000 glue
