Christmas Pocket Card (H58Q)

The double-pocket card was made according to instructions from the Technique Junkies Newsletter, and was created out of one piece of 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock. Since this is a subscription, the owner has asked that her instructions not be published elsewhere. You can check out the site and the Newsletter at Pat's Stamping Place.

The card was supposed to be made from double-sided cardstock, but since I didn't have any, I used white cardstock and attached decorative paper. This is a sturdy card when made from one sheet of cardstock, but even without knowing the exact directions, you can cut and attach cardstock to make the pockets.

  1. Attach green Christmas paper to the front of a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white card
  2. Attach red dot paper to a separate piece of white cardstock, cut as shown in the sample
  3. Attach striped paper to a piece of white cardstock - make it high enough to fit under the dotted piece
  4. Lay the striped piece, then the dotted piece on the card, lining up the edges, and attach with eyelets
  5. Print "stamp" on cardstock and attach to the front with foam tape
  6. Print red dot paper on cardstock and trim into a tag shape
  7. Print the thin Christmas tree on cardstock and attach to the tag with foam tape
  8. Tie a ribbon and glue to the top of the tag
  9. Insert tag into one of the pockets

  4. Attach red ribbon across center of card, tying a knot in one end, and attaching the jump ring to the knot
  5. Mat Santa clipart image to green corrugated cardstock and outline with gold pen
  6. Attach Santa to card with foam tape
  7. Paint a metal label holder with white acrylic paint and add red and green dots

  1. Cut a 4" x 12" strip from 12x12 scrapbook paper (I got three pieces from one page)
  2. Fold up 4 1/2" from the bottom, and 2" down from the top
  3. Attach 3 3/4" x 1 1/2" snowman image on top portion (I printed 12 on one 8 1/2 x 11 sheet)
  4. Draw 3 3/4" x 3" rectangle in graphics program and add a 2 3/8" x 1 1/8" rectangle 1/4" from top and centered (this will be cut-out portion)
  5. Type text in bottom portion of rectangle
  6. Print on white cardstock (I printed 6 on one 8 1/2 x 11 sheet)
  7. Trim around outer rectangle and attach to card, centering in the available space
  8. Using an exacto knife, cut center of small rectangle, through both white cardstock and 4x12 piece
  9. Fill plastic bag with tiny marshmallows, line up top of bag with top of a hot chocolate packet, and staple to inside back of 4 x 12 piece, making sure marshmallows show through the cut rectangle
  10. Use a piece of double-sided tape to keep the top closed
  11. Decorate with snowflakes and glitter
