Joyeux Noel (H33Q)

  1. Using a translation site, translate the first few lines from "Joy to the World" into French and paste into your graphics or word processing program.
  2. Right justify the text and apply the Killigraphy font.
  3. Translate "Merry Christmas" into French and paste into your document.
  4. Add the Angel clip-art and arrange the text.
  5. Print onto a transparency made for ink-jet printers. (Although the text was black on my screen, it printed kind of brownish-mauve. I was pleased with how it came out, but would choose Black Only Ink if I truly wanted it to print in black).
  6. Trim transparency to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2."
  7. Sponge a piece of watercolor paper with metallic inks (I used Sapphire, Amethyst, Rose, and Emerald, sponging in 4 separate corners and then blending the edges. I sponged Gold and Bronze over the entire piece).
  8. Let dry and press between the pages of a book, if necessary, to flatten.
  9. Attach the transparency and watercolor piece to a folded 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" beige card with purple eyelets.
  10. Tie a sheer gold ribbon bow in each corner.
  11. Apply a little Glossy Accents to the top left and bottom right corners and pour on some tiny beads.

Noel Angel (H10H)

  1. Outline folded tan ribbed cardstock with gold Krylon pen
  2. Attach decorative paper to cream cardstock (to give it some weight) and cut in a tag shape. Outline with the gold pen
  3. Tear both edges of a strip of vellum and attach to the center of the tag with vellum tape
  4. Stamp letters (N-O-E-L) on vellum and gold emboss.
  5. Cut out and attach to tag with foam tape
  6. Punch hole in tag, attach fibers, and attach tag to card with foam tape.
  7. Glue small heart in top right corner with E6000 glue
  8. Angel Embellishment: See CD techniques for more detail.
    • Sponge beige acrylic paint onto CD and dry with heat gun. Repeat if needed.
    • Computer generate the angel image on tissue paper and cut out
    • Spread a thin layer of Mod Podge on CD, attach angel image and spread another layer of MP
    • When dry, rub with clear embossing ink and clear emboss. Repeat. (This will cause some parts of the image to raise and get lumpy - it adds to the look).
    • Right after heating for the last time, add some silver Beadazzles to the piece
    • Outline with a gold pen and attach to the tag with foam tape

  2. Sprinkle gold embossing powder randomly over the diamonds; tap off excess

  4. When you tap off excess of each color, be sure to put them on separate sheets so the powders don't get mixed
  5. Heat to melt embossing powder
  6. Stamp angel with clear embossing ink on small cream card piece and gold emboss
  7. Color with watercolor pencils and blend with Dove blender
  8. Tape angel panel to gold panel and attach to card with foam tape
