Tag Thanks (M46Q)

  1. Fold dark brown cardstock to 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"
  2. Trim Grassroots decorative paper and attach, leaving 1/4" border
  3. Cut a piece of vellum 3 3/4" x 3" and cut a semi-circle from top center
  4. Use small pieces of vellum tape in bottom corners to attach to card to hold in place while sewing
  5. Stitch around entire card, catching vellum pocket
  6. Chalk the entire vellum piece with brown chalk to tone down the "whiteness."
  7. Chalk the edges of the decorative paper
  8. Computer generate THANKS and definition using GF Halda font
  9. Print on tan cardstock and attach to dark brown cardstock cut in a tag shape
  10. Brush brown chalk over the tan definition
  11. Cut a small square from the decorative paper and attach at top of tag
  12. Insert terra cotta eyelet and string
  13. Place inside vellum pocket

Multicolor Thanks (M44)

  1. Brayer white glossy paper with Lavender Sachet, Butterscotch, Conch Shell, and Soft Celery Stewart Superior Inks, blending well
  2. Cut 4 pieces 2 3/8" wide and 1 3/4" high, and tape to folded 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" dark purple card
  3. Cut 1 piece 3" x 2 1/2", tear bottom edge and attach to center of card with foam tape
  4. Computer generate verse in Elixir font on white specialty paper
  5. Trim, tear bottom edge, ink edges with Lavender Sachet and tape to center color block
  6. String some beads onto thin pink wire and attach to card with E6000 glue.

Recipe Cards (M45)

These are entirely computer-generated. My Pollyanna this year asked for good cookie sheets. I wrapped the sheets in a country-style paper and wrapped red ribbon around the sheets. I threaded a spatula through and attached these three recipe cards.
  1. Draw 3 x 5" rectangle on screen in graphics or word processing program
  2. Type recipe in Jester font
  3. Add checkerboard squares
  4. Print onto tan cardstock
  5. Cut in tag shape, punch hole and thread green and natural rafia through

Fairy (M46Q5)

  1. Cut oatmeal cardstock to 3 3/4" x 5"
  2. Computer generate "Thanks" in red
  3. Rub edges with olive inkpad
  4. Layer to 4" x 5 1/4" dark red cardstock and then to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" olive card with red eyelets
  5. Stamp fairy on oatmeal scrap, inking with Pine Tree Green and coloring berries and tips of wings with marker
  6. Ink edges with olive stamp pad
  7. Wet and crumble a scrap of olive cardstock, straighten, and attach to card with foam tape
  8. Attach fairy image to a scrap of red and then to olive piece
  9. Thread beads on wire, curl the edges and attach to card with E6000 glue.

Life is a Piano (M48)

  1. Computer generate "Life is Like a Piano" using All That Jazz font (size 90) and draw a rectangle around it approximately 7 1/2" x 1 3/4", with a 4 pt line
  2. Print on white cardstock and cut out along line
  3. Cut pink cardstock approximately 1/4" larger on all sides and ink edges with black ink
  4. Cut black textured cardstock about 3/8" larger on all sides and tape all pieces together
  5. Set a pink eyelet in each corner
  6. Fold an 8 1/2" x 11" piece of white cardstock longways, and trim to 9 x 7 1/2
  7. Fold in half horizontally
  8. Computer generate sheet music on white text paper, trim and attach to front of card
  9. Attach piano keys piece to card with foam tape
  10. Color a silver heart with a black Sharpie and set a pink eyelet
  11. Glue to the bottom corner of piano key piece
  12. Glue a wire note to the heart

Medieval Shield (M55S)

  1. Stamp Medieval Tile 4 times on black cardstock with clear embossing ink
  2. Emboss two images with silver embossing powder, and two with gold
  3. Trim images closely, and layer to any color cardstock that has been outlined with silver and gold leafing pens
  4. Fold a black card to measure 5 1/4" square and attach the four Tiles
  5. Stamp round Mexican design on black cardstock with clear embossing ink
  6. Sprinkle on silver embossing powder in two stripes and brush off excess
  7. Sprinkle on gold embossing powder to cover remainder of image and heat emboss
  8. Trim image into a square, rub the edges of the cardstock with clear embossing ink, and gold emboss
  9. Cut a small slit in each corner
  10. Wrap thin gold thread from one corner to the opposite one, and secure on the back with tape. Repeat with the other two corners
  11. Attach piece to card with foam tape
  12. Glue a gold bead in the center
