Ship Postage (NN9Q)

  1. Following the faux digital postage tutorial, create three postage stamps using photos of vintage ships.
  2. Keep a small black border on the image, and print on white cardstock
  3. Trim, leaving the black border on the stamps
  4. Mount stamps to a strip of red cardstock and tear the bottom; set aside
  5. Fold medium blue cardstock to 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" and attach red eyelets to top and bottom of left side
  6. Tie string through the eyelets into a knot
  7. Tear the left edge of a scrap of red cardstock and attach to card as shown
  8. Computer generate map clipart on white cardstock, trim and attach to front of card
  9. Attach postage strip with foam tape

Smooth Sailin' (NN10Q)

  1. Make a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card from white cardstock
  2. Stamp sailboat in bottom left corner with blue ink and clear emboss
  3. Cut diamond nautical paper 4 1/4" x 3 1/4" and tape to top portion of card
  4. Cut a piece of striped ribbon, tie in a knot, and attach to card, covering seam
  5. Print "Smooth Sailin'" on vellum, tear and ink edges
  6. Attach to silver-rimmed tag with vellum tape, and attach tag to card with foam tape

Ancient Mariner (NN11H)

  1. Stamp small star in dark blue ink around the edges of dark blue card
  2. Computer generate Ancient Mariner poem in blue ink on white textured card, stipple with dark red ink, and tape to blue card.
  3. Tear dark red, off white and dark blue card stock and tape to blue card, overlapping poem.
  4. Computer generate anchor, cut in circle. Punch hole in top of "tag"
  5. Attach eyelets at top and bottom of red portion and thread rope through from the inside, tying in knots.
  6. Tie rope through the top hole of tag and attach to card with foam dots
  7. Computer generate saying, layer to blue card, and attach to card with foam dots

    This is a good card for a guy - the saying can be changed for any occasion.

    This was based on a card I saw but don't remember the artist. If it's yours, please let me know so I can give you credit.

Ancient Mariner-Quick Version (NN12Q)

  1. Computer generate the anchor with the red circle on cream speckled card and cut out
  2. Computer generate the verse to "Ancient Mariner" on cream speckled card
  3. Tape the verse to the right side of a folded quarter-size dark blue card
  4. Tear strips of red, cream and blue card and tape to the left side of the card
  5. Attach two blue eyelets to the left edge and thread rope from the inside, tying in a knot on the front
  6. Punch a hole in the anchor clip art, thread with rope, and attach to card with foam tape

     

Sailboat with Map (NN13H)

  1. Computer generate the map in blue on tan card. Trim and tape to size H navy blue card
  2. Computer generate ship and text in blue on cream speckled card
  3. Corrugate a piece of dark red card
  4. Layer ship to a piece of the corrugated card, tear the bottom of each, and attach to main card with red eyelets. Repeat with text/

    Stamps: Clip art

    I couldn't find a map stamp that I liked, so I scanned a piece of wallpaper border, eliminated the colors, and changed the lines to dark blue.

Sailboat with Map-Quick Version (NN14Q)

  1. Computer generate the map in blue on tan card.
  2. Trim and tape to quarter size folded navy blue card
  3. Computer generate ship in blue on cream speckled card
  4. Corrugate a piece of dark red card
  5. Layer ship to the corrugated card, tear the bottom of each, and attach to main card with red eyelets.



Yellow Sailboat (Quick) (NN15Q)

  1. Using the stripe template from the roses card above, sponge alternate stripes of lime green and yellow on white card stock
  2. Using a marker, draw hot pink lines in the white spaces
  3. Cut a small white tag and tape strips of lime, hot pink and yellow
  4. Computer generate a sailboat image, color with inks and attach to tag using foam tape
  5. Punch a hole in the tag and thread yellow seam binding through
  6. Attach the tag to the striped piece with foam tape, taping the seam binding around the back.
  7. Tape piece to a quarter size folded lime green card
