    3. Rub the tape with a wooden dowel or paint brush handle to be sure it adheres to the glass
  4. Tag:
    1. Cut a tag shape (3" x 7") from sage speckled card stock
    2. Ink poetry stamp with brown ink, stamp once onto scrap paper, then stamp on the tag (this will give a lighter impression).

Heart Tile (R75S)

The larger background is just a flat piece and does not open. The small card attached to the center that is tied with the ribbon is what opens

  1. Cut a 4 3/4" square piece of lilac cardstock and layer to 5" square purple card
  2. Cut two pieces of decorative paper 2 1/4" square and tape to card as shown
  3. Cut a piece of dark purple card 6" x 3" and fold in half; tape to larger piece
  4. Cut a piece of lilac card 2 3/4" square and tape to small folded card
  5. Attach UTEE tile with foam tape to small lilac card (see directions below for making tile)
  6. Set two purple eyelets on either side of small card
  7. Thread sheer purple ribbon through from the back and tie in a bow.
  8. Verse is computer generated on vellum and attached with vellum tape

Stamps: Filagree heart (New Generation Crafts)

The pictures to the left show the card closed with the ribbon tied, open with the verse, and the front without the ribbon so you can get a good look at the tile

To make the UTEE tile: (I don't have a Melting Pot, so I used an old electric fry pan set at 340 degrees to melt the UTEE)
  1. Cut a square of mat board 2 1/2" square and sponge with purple pigment ink
  2. Pour on clear UTEE and lay on a hot sheet in the frying pan
  3. When UTEE is melted, remove from pan with a spatula and place on something that will protect your work surface
  4. Immediately stamp into the hot UTEE, being careful not to let stamp slide, and holding stamp until UTEE hardens - jut a minute or two
  5. Rub tile with Pearl-Ex powders (I used purple interference and silver) and spray with acrylic sealer

You can sprinkle on the UTEE and heat with a heat gun, adding several layers, but the UTEE always flys around. Using the frypan gave the tile more of a rounded top that I didn't get when using a heat gun.

Gold Filagree Heart (R76Q)

  1. Spray a piece of black card stock with gold webbing spray and put the piece through a paper corrugater. Set aside
  2. Outline quarter-size folded black card with gold Krylon pen
  3. Layer corrugated piece to a blue piece to the folded black card
  4. Attach a small piece of blue card stock with foam tape
  5. Glue black heart tile (see directions below) to blue piece with E6000 glue
  6. Thread three beads to gold artistic wire, curl the ends, and attach to the card with E6000

Stamps: Filagree heart (New Generation Crafts)

Technique for this tile is from Suze Weinberg's web site:

  1. Stamp directly onto a hot sheet with clear embossing ink and sprinkle with gold embossing powder
  2. Using a heat gun, emboss directly on the sheet
  3. Melt black UTEE and pour over the embossed image on the hot sheet
  4. When cool, peel tile off of sheet
