CD Rose (R7H)

  1. Take a CD (the kind you get in the mail from AOL) and cut the shape you want. See CD techniques
  2. Spread clear embossing ink on the shiny side and silver emboss. Repeat 3-4 times
  3. Ink the rose stamp with purple ink and heat the embossing powder once more til it's molten
  4. Immediately press the stamp into the embossing and hold about 20-30 seconds. (NOTE: the CD surface is very slippery and you need to be careful not to let the stamp slide.)
  5. Take size H purple card stock and attach a piece of silver metallic paper, leaving about 1/2" of card showing.
  6. Trim another piece of purple card stock to follow the contours of your CD and attach
  7. Glue on CD and cut the shank off an appropriate button and glue as shown on sample card
  8. Attach colored yarn or fibers to edge of card and string pony beads.

Purple Fantasy (R8H)

  1. Cut piece of purple vellum to H card size, adding 1/2" to left side to wrap around to back of card
  2. Stamp poetry with purple ink (I used pigment) onto vellum - let dry.
  3. Trim the right edge with deckle scissors and emboss edge in silver
  4. Tear the edge of size H dark purple card stock and edge in silver metallic marker
  5. Use double sided tape to attach vellum to back of dark purple card
  6. Stamp Paris Rose onto white shrink plastic and shrink. Dab with purple and pink chalk when cooled.
  7. Attach silver skeleton leaves to vellum, and attach shrink plastic piece to cover edges of leaves
  8. Make bow with thin silver cord and attach.

    This is my favorite card and the scan didn't do it justice.

Old Fashion Hearts (R9H)

  1. Take size H cream card stock and stamp poetry in gold.
  2. Cut a rectangle of pretty patterned paper and layer on top of a piece of gold card stock
  3. Attach to cream card
  4. Stamp a heart on cream card stock and emboss in gold; stamp a few smaller hearts inside and emboss in gold
  5. Cut out heart and attach to card with foam dots.

    Stamps: Hero Arts Italian Poetry; I drew my own heart with an embossing pen, but there are lots of stamps to choose from.

Scribble Heart (R10S)

  1. Draw heart template on scrap paper and cut out heart, being careful to preserve outline.
  2. Lay heart outline in center of S black card stock and use embossing pen to "scribble" back and forth.
  3. Emboss with gold powder.
  4. Cut diamond shape out of red card stock, and attach stock to black card

Paris Rose (R11Q)

  1. Stamp Paris Rose on beige card stock and color with water color pencils.
  2. Cut edge of size Q tan card stock with deckle scissors and highlight with gold metallic marker.
  3. Stamp poetry in gold ink on tan card stock in several different directions.
  4. Glue Paris Rose to card.
  5. Tie bow in sheer beige ribbon and glue to top

Fancy Shoe (R12H)

  1. Stamp fancy shoe on white card stock, brayer with rainbow ink, and cut out (I used a computer graphics program to print and color the shoe)
  2. Take size H lilac card stock and stamp images in purple ink
  3. Attach shoe to front of card
  4. Glue small silver bow to shoe and attach small sparkly jewels to front of card

Together (R13H)

  1. Corrugate a strip of silver paper and attach to the left of medium grey card stock
  2. Print or stamp verse on light grey card and outline with silver Krylon pen
  3. Attach to dark grey panel and tape to card
  4. Draw a heart (about 2 1/2" wide) and cut half from silver paper and half from dark grey card
  5. Draw a slightly smaller heart and cut half from silver paper and half from dark grey card, but cut opposite sides
  6. Tape together as shown on sample and glue small red bow to top of heart

    Stamps: none.
