Rainbow Girl (R113Q)

The gradient was created digitally (see Gradients-Digital Brayering) but you could do it traditionally with a brayer. The text background and girl are Paint Shop Pro brushes, but you could use any stamp or clip-art image you wish.

  1. Open a new image, any size, and fill with your created gradient in the sunburst style.
  2. Using the text brush, "stamp" the writing in four corners, changing the rotation of the brush.
  3. Create a smaller image and fill with same gradient.
  4. Using the brush of the girl, with your foreground black, "stamp" once on your smaller image.
  5. Using the Selection Tool rectangle, select just the image of the girl, eliminating the rest of the gradient background.
  6. Create a third image, fill with the same gradient, and add the text for the inside of your card. Print all three images on white cardstock.
  7. Trim first image a little smaller than a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" black card and attach.
  8. Layer the girl image to lavender, then black cardstock, and attach to card at an angle, using foam tape.
  9. Print the time embellishment, trim and attach to card with foam tape.
  10. Tear a small piece of green vellum and attach to bottom left corner with vellum tape.
  11. Thread lock and key charms through a length of sheer purple ribbon. Tie a knot in the end, and at various places along the strand. Glue to card.
  12. Trim verse and attach to inside of card.
