For my cousin's 50th birthday





First page

  1. Cut an 8" x 7" piece of decorative paper and attach to 12"x12" cream cardstock
  2. Cut two strips from decorative paper and attach to top and bottom of layout
  3. Cut a 5" x 5 1/2" piece of corrugated paper and a 5 1/2" x 4 1/2" piece of blue cardstock and attach to center of decorative paper, overlapping as shown
  4. Computer generate the letter "B" in Steamer font on beige cardstock. Cut out the letter, ink the edges, and attach to blue cardstock, aligning with the left side
  5. Computer generate "2006" in Punch Label Font, trim and attach to side of "B" as shown
  6. Computer generate "50" in Steamer font, and attach to die cut label holder - attach to bottom right with blue eyelets
  7. Attach three buttoms to left bottom of layout
  8. Attach purchased "Happy Birthday" embellishment with brads to layout as shown

 

Early Years -1

  1. Tear right edge of blue striped paper, ink with dark red ink and attach to 12"x12" denim cardstock
  2. Computer generate title using CG Gift font on light denim cardstock
  3. Tear and ink the bottom edge and attach to top of layout
  4. Trim photos and attach together, collage style, taping together on back
  5. Mat with one sheet of dark red cardstock, triming around each photo
  6. Attach to center of layout
  7. Insert 4 ribbon brads in left bottom edge
  8. Attach red grossgrain ribbon to right bottom edge, and insert one ribbon brad

 

Early Years-2

  1. Cut three 2" x 12" pieces of blue striped paper and attach to dark red 12x12" cardstock 1" down from top, 5" down from top and 9" down from top
  2. Trim 9 photos to 3" x 3" and attach all but the center one to the layout as shown
  3. Matt the center photo in blue denim cardstock and attach in center
  4. Insert 4 ribbon brads surrounding the center photo as shown

 

Big Brother

  1. Tear striped paper in half diagonally and attach to the left and bottom of tan 12 x 12" cardstock
  2. Tear a small corner from the striped paper and attach to the top right corner
  3. Mat focal photo in blue, then green cardstock, leaving extra space on the right of the green cardstock. Rub edges with Tea Dye Distress Ink.
  4. Set three copper eyelets in the right edge and attach photo to page with foam tape
  5. Trim three photos to 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" and matt to blue cardstock - ink edges
  6. Curl the edge of copper wire and tuck photo into the curl
  7. Curl the opposite edge of the wire and tuck the second photo into the curl, placing at an angle on the page. Attach both photos with foam tape
  8. Curl a separate piece of wire, insert the third photo into the curl and attach to page with foam tape
  9. Computer generate "Big Brother" in Comic Sans font, ink edges, and attach to purchased accent
  10. Ink edges and attach to layout.

 

Smiles

  1. Tear the bottom edge of striped paper and attach to the top of beige 12x12 cardstock
  2. Cut a 2" x 12" piece of the striped paper, going in the opposite direction, and attach to the bottom of the page
  3. Computer generate SMILES paper, 3" wide x 12" long and attach to the left side
  4. Print focal photo, mat to light blue cardstock, then to brown cardstock, cut in the shape of a tag. Tear the bottom edge.
  5. Tape a light blue square to the top of the tag, punch a hole and set a green eyelet
  6. Tape green, brown, pink and blue cardstock together and cut two 1/2" strips - attach to top and bottom of the tag
  7. Cut 4 pictures to 2" x 2 1/4" (approx.), and attach a 1 1/4" blue square in the top left corner
  8. Set a green eyelet in the corner of each picture and attach to right side of page, spacing evenly
  9. Print the word "smiles" on green grossgrain ribbon and attach to page, taping ends around the back
  10. Rub all edges with Tea Dye Distress Ink

 

Occasions

  1. Cut two 6"x6" squares of striped paper and attach to opposite corners of dark blue denim cardstock
  2. Cut a 1"x12" strip of olive cardstock and attach across the center
  3. Print photos with gold frames in a graphics program, cut out, and attach in the center of each square
  4. Computer generate library holders, insert the text, and print on photo paper
  5. Cut out and attach above and below photos as shown
  6. Attach silver "OCCASIONS" letters to center as shown
  7. Cover a slide mount with striped paper, insert a photo, and attach at an angle.

 

Snapshots in Time

  1. Attach blue striped paper to left side of tan 12"x12" cardstock
  2. Computer generate title, using clip art of a camera and tripod for the "A" in "Snapshots", and print on blue cardstock
  3. Matt to olive cardstock, leaving the right end longer
  4. Tie two ribbons around olive cardstock and attach title to top of page
  5. Line up photos and tape to 12x12 olive cardstock.
  6. Trim around photos, leaving a thin edge and attach to layout
  7. Computer generate the letter "B" (for my cousin's name) in Casablanca Antique font and print on white cardstock
  8. Trim, leaving some white around the letter
  9. Tie a ribbon around letter and attach to layout with foam tape
