For my cousin's 50th birthday





Incense and Peppermint

  1. Computer generate 70's symbols (peace sign, flower, "Frodo Lives" in purple, red and green on dark yellow paper
  2. Trim to 8 1/2" x 3" and tear left edge
  3. Cut a piece 4 1/2" x 10" from striped paper and attach to 12" x 12" purple cardstock
  4. Attach 70's symbols paper to left edge, and attach dark red ribbon, covering the seam. Staple ribbon twice at top and bottom
  5. Mat photo to red cardstock, leaving right edge a little longer, and tear that edge
  6. Cut a small piece of striped paper, attach under the right edge of photo, and attach to layout at an angle
  7. Computer generate "Incense and Peppermint" on dark yellow cardstock, mat to red cardstock and attach to bottom right of layout
  8. I couldn't find a peace sign charm, so I printed a peace sign on silver paper, top with a page pebble, and cut around the paper. Attach to bottom of photo.

 

Sax

  1. Tear three pieces from 12"x12" music paper and attach to dark red cardstock as shown
  2. Mat focal picture to grey cardstock and outline with silver Krylon pen; mat to black cardstock and attach to layout
  3. Mat second photo to grey, then black cardstock and attach to layout
  4. Cut dark red cardstock into a tag shape and matt to black cardstock
  5. Attach two small pieces of music paper, punch hole, and tie ribbon through and in a knot
  6. Computer generate text on vellum, tear and ink edges, and attach to tag with vellum tape
  7. Attach tag to layout
  8. Sponge ink on edges and to accent raised G Cleff of a clay accent piece (See clay mold technique for directions).

 

Wedding

  1. Attach a strip of 12"x3 1/2" white decorative paper to left side of 12"x12" cardstock
  2. Attach a 4" x 6" photo, aligning with the top of the page
  3. Computer generate text on green decorative paper, trim to 3 1/2" x 4 1/2" and attach to top right corner
  4. Computer generate hearts and vines on 8 3/4" x 4 1/2" pink decorative paper, and attach to right side
  5. Attach a 4" x 4" square of pink decorative paper to center, under photo
  6. Attach pink grossgrain ribbon to cover the edges of the papers as shown
  7. Cut a semi-circle from green decorative paper and attach at the bottom
  8. Computer generate hearts (and stitching), print on white cardstock, and attach to semi-circle with foam tape
  9. Glue three pink buttons to top left corner
  10. Computer generate date of wedding and print on pink decorative paper
  11. Create a clay frame (see clay mold), sponge with pink ink, attach wedding text behind frame, and glue to layout
  12. Sponge 4 tiny jeweler's tags with pink chalk ink, stamp letters, and attach under photo with pink eyelets
    Stamps: Letters (Hero Arts). Layout was copied and modified from one created by Jennifer Caputo.

 

Wedding-2

  1. Tear right edge of pink decorative paper and attach to 12" x 12" cream cardstock
  2. Tear left edge of green decorative paper and attach to right side of layout, leaving about 1 1/4" of cream cardstock showing through
  3. Attach one end of pink grossgrain ribbon to top of layout, at edge of pink paper, with a pink brad
  4. Lay ribbon on an angle across to the green paper, about 2" down, turn edge of ribbon to overlap, and attach with a brad
  5. Continue attaching ribbon every 2"
  6. Mat photos to green vellum, inking all edges, and tearing the bottom edges
  7. Attach to left side of layout
  8. Glue a flower to bottom corner of each photo mat
  9. Computer generate "Love" definition in vellum, and attach to top right of layout with vellum tape
  10. Computer generate "Cherish," "Honor," and "Respect" and print on velum
  11. Mat to decorative pink paper, cut in a tag shape, and then to cream cardstock
  12. Punch a hole at the end of each tag, and attach to layout with foam tape

 

First Time Ever I Saw Your Face

  1. Attached purchased decorative paper to pink 12"x12" cardstock
  2. Matt photo with dark pink, then light pink cardstock
  3. Roll edges of outer mat and attach to layout
  4. Computer generate text on vellum and rub the top and edges with pink chalk (this will tone down the color of the text).
  5. Attach to layout using vellum tape, and slipping one edge under the photo
  6. Glue a ribbon rose to top corner of photo

 

Pretty in Pink

  1. Cut a 12" x 6" rectangle of plaid paper and attach to 12" x 12" pink cardstock
  2. Cut 5 1/4" x 6" piece of purple vellum and attach to bottom right corner
  3. Attach pink grossgrain ribbon across page, covering the edge of the plaid paper
  4. Computer generate "Pretty in Pink" on vellum, tear and ink edges, and attach with pink eyelets
  5. Glue 3 pink clay mosaic tiles to bottom right
  6. Mat photo to purple shimmer paper, then to pink cardstock, tearing the bottom edge (and leaving a wider left margin)
  7. Ink edges of pink matt and pink cardstock of layout
  8. Attach three pieces of ribbon to left edge of mat with pink brads
  9. Attach photo to layout with foam tape
  10. Draw light lines on purple vellum for stems and leaves and embroider with green thread
  11. Glue pink buttons on the top of each stem for the "flower."

 

Florida - 1

  1. Tear strips of tan cardstock and turquoise decorative paper and attach to bottom of 12" x 12" dark turqouise cardstock as shown
  2. Mat photos with white striped vellum, ink the edges and attach to layout
  3. Using a graphic program, fill the word "Florida" with a photo of a sunset and print on vellum (see filled text tutorial)
  4. Tear and ink the edges and attach to top of layout
  5. Stamp sand dollars at bottom of layout
  6. Stamp shell in bottom left corner, and color with watercolors

    Stamps: Sand Dollar (Rubber Stamp Plantation); Shell (unknown)

 

Florida 2

  1. Trim 12" x 12" tan cardstock to 11 1/2" square
  2. Cut 3 3 1/2" squares from turquoise cardstock, turquoise decorative paper and dotted paper and attach to layout
  3. Cut 3 photos 3 1/4" square and attach to blocks as shown
  4. Mat larger photo with decorative paper and attach to bottom right of layout, spannin 4 squares
  5. Glue three flowers at corners as shown
