For my sister-in-law's in-law's 50th Anniversary (wow, that's a mouthful!)

Journey - 1

  1. Tear one piece of map decorative paper in half, and tear one half into two pieces
  2. Ink edges with turquoise ink and attach to bottom and just above center of 12" x 12" tan cardstock
  3. Print title on blue cardstock, tear and ink bottom edge and attach to top of layout (the blue cardstock I used didn't match the paper too well, so I sponged turquoise ink so that it would blend better)
  4. Print 7 3" photos and mat to dark and light turquoise cardstock
  5. Attach to layout as shown
  6. Print small title on vellum, tear and ink edges, and attach to layout with vellum tape
  7. Print large title on vellum, cut bottom edge and tear top edge, and ink
  8. Attach to layout, slightly overlapping bottom of photos

Credits: Flag Paper (Dyan Cross) - I found a photo of a vintage flag and resized it to 1200 pixels at 300 dpi (12"). I used a "Declaration of Independence" brush by Marnie and stamped repeatedly on the cream-colored stripes. I printed the flag on legal paper to give me the 12" width.

  4. Color and distress the digital tape measure, and print two pieces on legal paper
  5. Cut out and attach to layout as shown
  6. Change most photos to sepia and print (because the fire engines were very muted, I chose to keep the colors)
  7. Arrange the photos collage-style and tape together on back; attach to right side of layout
  8. Print digital diamond paper on cardstock and cut into three tags
