Though I've never scrapbooked before, when my dear aunt Narissa had a milestone birthday, I knew I wanted to do something special for her. She's led a fascinating life, has traveled the world, is an actress, playwright, and singer, and I decided to celebrate her life with a scrapbook entitled Aspects of Narissa. Each page would describe an aspect of her life or personality - actress, artist, world traveler, sister, etc.

  4. Attach purple eyelets

  6. Tape the bottom circle with the pictures to the layout, and attach the top circle with a brad so it will spin
  7. Glue rhinestones randomly to top circle
  8. Write the word "TURN" in silver ink to the left of the window and cover with a page pebble (this works as a "handle" to turn the top circle)
  9. Attach a silver skeleton leaf to the layout with vellum tape, spread glue along the bottom and attach silver beads
  10. Attach a silver metal heart to a square tag with a brad and attach to layout

Scotland

This is a total departure from the pages above, and was created digitally using Paint Shop Pro. Be sure to add a layer before adding each element to the layout. Then you will always be able to delete one item without changing the rest of the piece. Another good hint is to save your work frequently while in process. Following are the basic steps:
  1. Create a blank image 475 pixels square and add the Scotland background as a layer
  2. Add a layer and fill with the tartan plaid
  3. Using the Lasso tool, Freehand, draw a jagged line where you want the torn page to be and continue around the edges of the piece you want to keep.
  4. Invert the selection, delete, invert again and apply a drop shadow
  5. Repeat for the top right corner
  6. Add the photograph
  7. Using the Selection tool, draw a rectangle a little larger than the photo and fill with blue - apply a texture and place the layer behind the photograph. Add a drop shadow
  8. Using the Eixir font, type the heading, fill with a blue/red gradient font, and a blue outside stroke
  9. Open the raffia download, colorize to light green and add to the layout
  10. Open the Celtic knot clip and add to the corner of the photo; add a drop shadow. Use the eraser tool to remove the portion of the clip that should be behind the photo
  11. Open the downloaded tag, colorize light green and add to the layout. Add a drop shadow
  12. Open and add the vellum overlay
  13. Type name in Elixir font in solid green and add to the tag; add a drop shadow
  14. Create eyelets and add to the layout
