Scrapbook - Mom and Dad - page 2

For my parent's 80th birthdays. I didn't have a lot of time to prepare this book, so I decided on a blue color scheme, and used two shades of blue and cream for the pages. I found some coordinating decorative papers, and computer generated others. I used 2 Peas Gift font for all titles, and placed them in the same position on each page.





Grandparents

  1. Tear top edge of plaid paper and attach to bottom of cream cardstock
  2. Print title on medium blue cardstock, tear bottom edge, and attach to top of page
  3. Assemble pictures collage style and tape together on back.
  4. Mat to medium blue cardstock and attach to page
  5. Using Punch Label font, computer generate dates, trim and attach to page
  6. Attach two green buttons to left side of layout with light blue brads
  7. Computer generate verse on cream cardstock, trim to tag shape, and stamp with splatter stamp, using blue and green ink
  8. Mat to medium blue cardstock and attach to page
  9. Attach a white silk flower to green silk flower, and attach to page with a blue brad

 

Party Animals-page 1

  1. Tear edges from two pieces of striped paper
  2. Tear both edges of blue dotted paper and attach a piece of striped paper to each side; ink striped paper
  3. Attach to center of cream cardstock
  4. Print first word of title on light blue cardstock, tear bottom edge, ink and attach to top of page
  5. Ink all edges with lavender, green, and purple pigment ink
  6. Assemble pictures collage style and tape together on back.
  7. Mat to medium blue cardstock and attach to page
  8. Using Punch Label font, computer generate dates, trim and attach to page
  9. Tie purple, green, blue and purple sheer ribbons in a knot. Tie two more knots, evenly spaced and trim to fit the side of the page - glue to page at the knots
  10. Using a purple brad, attach a while silk flower to a purple flower and then to the page at top left

Party Animals-page 2

  1. Tear edges from two pieces of blue dotted paper and attach to top and bottom of a 12" x 6 1/4" piece of blue striped paper.
  2. Attach to center of medium blue cardstock
  3. Print second word of title on light blue cardstock, tear bottom edge, ink and attach to top of page
  4. Assemble pictures collage style and tape together on back.
  5. Mat to medium blue cardstock and attach to page
  6. Using Punch Label font, computer generate dates, trim and attach to page
  7. Attach four pieces of ribbon to top of layout using pastel brads

The Play's the Thing

  1. Tear edges from two pieces of striped paper, and ink edges
  2. Attach to bottom and top third of light blue cardstock
  3. Print title on cream cardstock, tear bottom edge, ink and attach to top of page
  4. Attach eyelets at edges of striped papers
  5. Print theater posters on glossy photo paper, trim and arrange collage style on layout

 

Opposites Attract

  1. Attach 12" x 8 1/2" striped paper to cardstock. Attach a 2" x 12" piece of striped paper to top, with stripes going the other way
  2. Print title on medium blue cardstock, tear bottom edge, and attach to top of page
  3. Attach scrabble letters spelling "quiet" to left side of layout, and green buttons spelling "talks" to right side of layout
  4. To prepare the "flip-open" piece, create an 11" x 8 1/2" rectangle in your graphics program
  5. Draw two 2" x 8 1/2" rectangles on each side
  6. Type in the headings in the center, arrows and text in the appropriate places and save your file
  7. Delete all but the headings, and print on 11" x 8 1/2" medium blue cardstock.
  8. Score 2" in from each side and fold ends in
  9. Reopen your file, delete the headings, and print the other items on legal size paper (draft mode is fine)
  10. Cut two pieces each, 2" x 8 1/2", of striped paper and light blue cardstock and tape to the legal paper and put back into the printer
  11. Attach striped papers to inside flap of heading piece, and light blue cardstock with arrows as shown
  12. Attach piece to center of layout with red-liner tape
  13. Computer generate hinges on photo paper, trim and attach to page with brads. Attach ends to "flip-open" piece with red liner tape
  14. Attach a few pieces of green mesh to fronts of "doors."
  15. Print small photos, attach to tiny frames, and glue to front of doors

The Girls

  1. Cut two strips of medium blue cardstock and cross them on the page as shown
  2. Cut two different patterned papers to fit in the bottom and left sections and attach to light blue cardstock
  3. Attach strips, covering the edges of the patterned paper
  4. Print title on cream cardstock, tear bottom edge, ink edges and attach to top of page
  5. Assemble pictures collage style and tape together on back.
  6. Mat to cream cardstock and attach to page
  7. Attach purse and shoe charms to the left side of page
  8. Stretch a piece of multi-color fiber along the left side, taping ends on the back
  9. Set two blue eyelets at the bottom right of title piece and tie a small piece of fiber through

 

Family & Friends

  1. Stamp writing stamp in blue ink on 12x12 medium blue cardstock
  2. Cut 12 2 3/4" dark blue squares
  3. Print 9 photos, and trim to 2 3/8" each - attach to blue squares
  4. Cut three different pieces of decorative paper to 2 3/8" each and attach to remaining blue squares
  5. Print title and "friends" saying and trim to 11 1/2" x 2 1/2"
  6. Attach title 1/4" down from top
  7. Line up the 12 squares evenly on the cardstock - leave about 1/4" between each piece. There will be a little extra space at the bottom of the page and top just under the heading
  8. Tape to page
  9. Tie a piece of ribbon through a key charm and attach, along with a lock and Memories charm in the top patterned square
  10. Glue watch pieces in the middle square, and a gold heart charm in the bottom square
