Travel Tin (T15Q)

    Prepare Tin:
  1. Take a 4 3/4" x 5 1/2" metal tin that an AOL CD comes in and sand the top, bottom and outside edges
  2. Paint the sides and about 1" from the edges of top and bottom (most of the top and bottom will be covered by cardstock). (Mine took 2-3 coats)
  3. Draw around the top for a template for the top and bottom, and press paper into the tin to make a template for the inside.

BOTTOM:
  1. Type the city names in GF Halda font in several sizes in a graphics program or Word, and print on tan cardstock
  2. Ink the cardstock with Tea Dye Distress Ink (I added digital "inking" and grunge to my text before printing also).
  3. Cut two pieces a little smaller than your top template
  4. Glue one piece to the back of the tin and let dry
TOP:
  1. Stamp 3 travel stamps along left side of the second text piece of cardstock
  2. Color with watercolor pencils and blend with Dove Blender
  3. Type words "Discover Explore Dream Travel" on GF Halda font in a graphics program or word and print on text paper. Tape twill ribbon over top of the words and put back through the printer to print onto the ribbon
  4. Attach ends of ribbon around the back of the text piece
  5. Place blue ribbon across the front and attach edges around the back
  6. Glue piece to top of tin and let dry
LABEL HOLDER:
  1. Print the word "Adventure" on cardstock and ink with Distress Ink
  2. Attach die cut label holder with dark blue brads
  3. Cover text with Glossy Accents and let dry
  4. Attach to top of tin with foam tape

    INSIDE TOP:
    1. Use inside template to cut tan cardstock, ink, and tape to inside top
    2. Cut a pocket shape from decorative postcard paper and ink edges
    3. I used a graphics program to add images and text to film strip clip art, then printed and attached to top of "pocket"
    4. Attach pocket, leaving top open to include a note

    INSIDE BOTTOM:
    1. Type text in a graphics program or Word, add decorative corners, and print on tan cardstock
    2. Ink cardstock, use inside template to cut out, and tape to inside bottom.
